ABOUT MY PRACTICE
Compassionate curiousity
For me, yoga is a tool, a tool for us to connect with ourselves on a deep internal level where we can explore our truth. My personal practice began over a 15 years ago and from day one I knew that the combination of physical movement, breath awareness and meditation would lead me to a deeper connection to myself, it also felt amazing!!! Yoga allows my body and mind to be open, open to all I experience on and off the mat. As well as keeping my body healthy and strong, I find it helps me to turn the volume down on my ego and critical self, cultivating a compassionate calmer self.

As someone with a teaching background and an insatiable need to learn, how could I resist doing my teacher training and sharing the gift this practice offers?
I completed my 200hr foundation training in 2015 with Roy Griffins and Yoga Training and Therapy Centre, Dublin, this course gave me the basis for offering a safe enjoyable class but I wanted a deeper understanding of the physical practice and more insight into the breath and yogic philosophy so I completed my 500hr training with Ciara Cronin The Yoga Room in Dublin in 2018. I have done further studies in Krama Vinyasa with Sritvatsa Ramaswami, Kids Yoga with Rainbow Kids and restorative yoga all of which inform my practice.
Already having a MSc in Psychology my interest peeked at the potential psychological support that yoga could offer those going through mental health difficulties. This lead me on to do mulitple trainings in yoga for trauma, foundations of trauma sensitive yoga with TCTSY and train in the application of polyvagul theory for yoga therapy with Arielle Swartz. This exploration of modalities will continue as I try to satisfy my need to learn and understand the many aspects of yoga and how they can support our mental health.
During a class with me, you can expect to move steadily through sequences I have created specifically for those in front of me, with an emphasis on linking breath to movement. I aim to make the classes accessible, ensuring everyone is getting the most from their practice. I take a trauma informed approach offering choice and encourage practitioner to be
present with their practice.
I hope practioners attending my classes feel they are in a space where they have full oppertunity to explore every inch of themselves physically, emtionally and spirtially in the most enjoyable, compssionate and curious way.
Our classes are located in the beautiful setting of Newcastle Parish Centre and Shorline Sports Centre, Bray. Wonderful spaces with lots of light and stunning views.

MINDFUL MOVEMENT
These classes are designed to cultivate a compassionate curiosity with the self, body, and mind. Allowing for creative exploration and being mindful of functional movement while still having the framework of a traditional practice. There is a dynamic flow to the class without it being fast-paced, allowing time for practitioners to process and absorb all that they are experiencing.

GOLD YOGA /CHAIR YOGA
This class offers those above 50 years old or anyone who feels they are lacking mobility and strength, a fully accessible class for all body types. Utilizing props such as chairs, blocks, and walls, we can explore many poses drawing equal benefits. Wonderful for strengthening, lengthening and mobilizing the body. We will work gently with the breath helping to connect with ourselves on deeper level, cultivating mindfulness. I also like to make this class quite practical too, looking at what we can take away from the class and maybe do at home.

YOGA FOR KIDS
Many people have asked me, 'Why would children need to do yoga?'
Yes, children inherently have wonderfully flexible bodies but I believe it is the very mindful aspects of yoga that can be of great benefit to kids, helping them to develop their focus, learn tools to calm themselves and deal with big emotions when they arise. It is also a wonderfully fun, non-competitive, creative activity where the kids often take the lead.
